Our story
What began as a single baking line in Dubai in 1981 is now one of the UAE's best-known local snack brands. Papy Snacks came off that first line. Dubai Pofak and Chipstix followed in 1984, and our newest flavours keep arriving today.
Modernfood is part of the HBAS Group of Industries, a diversified Emirati group active across the UAE since 1966. We still work to the recipes we have used for decades, with modern food technology and certified quality standards behind every bag.
Global reach
Modernfood snacks are exported from Dubai to the GCC, the wider Middle East, Africa, and Australia. Importers and distributors get certified, shelf-stable products, export documentation, and a shelf life of 6 months from a manufacturer with more than 40 years of experience.

Dubai Pofak is made by Modernfood in Al Garhoud, Dubai. Launched in 1984 and relaunched in 2023, it's now certified vegan, and in 2026 we added a Chilli Cheeze flavour.
Our whole range is oven-baked, never fried. Baking uses considerably less oil than frying, and every pack contains 0 g trans-fat.
